OF MICE & MEN Release Video for New Single ‘Obsolete’
OM&M kick off 2021 in full force with a new label, a new EP announcement, and a new single.
Obsolete is the first glance into the band’s upcoming EP Timeless out on 26th February via their new label SharpTone Records. 2020 was a challenging year for all of us, but for Of Mice & Men it was a year of reflection on the human permanency and society’s rapid evolution, as well as specifically their future as individuals and as a band. Obsolete is not only the result of their thought process but also an amazingly refreshing metalcore song, resurrecting the unforgettable, unique and dearly missed OM&M sound. Given the band’s powerful comeback, we can only wait to be impressed by what they have in store for us.
Speaking on the new single, singer Aaron Pauley explains:
It’s a song about questioning how future-proof one is in the grand scheme of things, and acknowledging that maybe we aren’t at all. I think we all wonder, to a certain extent, whether or not we’ll fit into the future, or how we would, or what that would look like. Obsolescence is very prevalent in our lives. We see how quickly old phones become virtually useless, how quickly fads and trends come and go. It’s all too easy to ponder about when you’ll become a covered wagon, or a flip phone, or Myspace.
