DRAUVE Release New Single ‘Search Party’
Search Party is the introspective yet highly relatable new single from Drauve, tackling the search for identity.

Indie pop duo Drauve hail from across the pond in Los Angeles, but that hasn’t stopped them from crafting intimate tracks that will resonate with listeners everywhere. This rings particularly true for their latest release, Search Party, which is a whimsical indie cut that explores the topic of self-identity and our continual pursuit of it. When we live in a society, it’s difficult not to wonder how we fit in with the group around us and ponder the perception of belonging. It’s this universal theme that makes this release such a compelling listen, as it feels like something you’ve experienced and wanted to put into words yourself.
Musically, the track draws influences from the 80’s new wave style but gives it a modern flourish with the production, culminating in a resounding and anthemic sound. Singer Victoria Draovitch explains: “When we’re not working, we spend a lot of time listening to 80’s records like Tears for Fears, ‘Til Tuesday, a-ha…that influence really shines through on this song.” With cavernous electronics balanced against aerial vocals, it almost feels like you’re going through an out-of-body experience as you take on this journey alongside Drauve, and you’re able to re-evaluate who you are from an outside perspective.
Sharing more about how the track came into its final form, guitarist and producer Stephen Grzenda begins:
We originally wrote the song about driving around LA during the pandemic, searching for signs of pre-COVID life.
Singer Victoria Draovitch continues:
I ended up revising the lyrics of the song to make it about searching for oneself; I’ve always really struggled with being a people pleaser, and losing myself in the expectations of other people.
