As a producer and graphic designer based in New York City, Andrey Azizov is in a prime position to collaborate with other musicians and allow his creativity to roam freely. It’s created a space for experimenting and experiencing, and with each new release, his work becomes even slicker. In his newest release, TOO LOUD!, he teams up with vocalist Simone and the pair spins an engrossing tale that follows the ups and downs of someone going through a turbulent relationship.

Building from a plucked bass tone, the track starts off seemingly innocent enough, reflecting the naivety of entering into a new relationship and seeing the world through rose-tinted spectacles. Simone’s slightly airy vocals add a layer of heartfelt vulnerability before it toughens up in the chorus, when the doubts start seeping through and the anger builds. Singing about ‘pacing back and forth, making me question what I do this for,’ the candid lyricism will draw out your sympathy and tease out your more emotional side, while the punkish melody brings a more rousing side and conveys the intensity of emotions.

Speaking more about the track, Andrey shares:

‘TOO LOUD!’ is a youthful & vulnerable recounting of a manipulative & selfish partner set to a cathartic guitar driven instrumental that hits hard, but also captures intimate moments of emotion. I wanted to push my production to the extreme, everything in the track is a real instrument, but it’s all either a sample or recorded directly into my laptop like the guitar. In that way it’s like a bedroom producer creating a full rock band in their room, which I thought was a cool idea. Simone brought a lot of teen angst into the vocals which I thought was perfect. It’s the ultimate DIY song and like a very modern 2021 take on punk music – even down to my design for the cover which was inspired by 80s and 90s punk posters.
