RETRO VIDEO CLUB Return With Soaring Anthem ‘Faking’

Demanding your attention from the very first beat, this track is an energising tale of a toxic past relationship, inspired by the ex-lover’s unexpected communication.

RETRO VIDEO CLUB 2022

Bursting onto the scene in 2018, Retro Video Club are an Edinburgh-based indie band who are known for their rousing indie hits. Having shared stages with the likes of The Hunna, The Libertines and The Vaccines, RVC have respectively sold out Edinburgh’s 650-capacity Liquid Rooms and Glasgow’s 1300-capacity SGW3 with their headline shows.

Anthemic and soul-stirring, the Scottish natives’ new single Faking consists of thunderous bass, blazing guitars, booming drums and chantable lyricism. Complete with a stirring bridge, this indie rock explosion is ignited by frontman Liam Allison’s reciting of an ex-lover’s texts, which translate into the exhilarating chorus. Without a doubt, this enthralling track evokes a sense of rapture in the listener and will have you tapping your feet, without you even realising.

Retro Video Club share:

‘Faking’ is about being bitter, and trying to leave one last dig at your ex before moving on with your life. It’s the age old tale of a lover scorned, and how in the 21st century, people get their licks in.

Recently, Retro Video Club have not only performed in York, Stoke and Cardiff as part of their Independent Venue Week series, but they have also consecutively opened for The Kooks in Glasgow. Touring again from 6th April, the band will showcase their electrifying sound in venues across the UK, beginning with two dates at Glasgow’s beloved King Tuts Wah Wah Hut venue, and then closing their series of shows on 30th April at the annual Liverpool Sound City festival.
