THOUSAND BELOW Unveil Video for Fervent Single ‘Sinking Me’
San Diego’s outfit shares second cut, Sinking Me, to be lifted from their forthcoming debut.

Having started the year with a signing to Rise Records surely set the bar high. Now following their blistering first single, Tradition, Thousand Below unveil brand new track, Sinking Me, another daring introduction to the band’s vision.
Heavy on both the composition level and lyrical content, with an enraged spirit, Sinking Me is a bold offering from the San Diego collective. From the opening line “I’m burning alive inside my mind”, the track significantly carries an emotive charge, and before it goes off we find ourselves screaming along. With reflective, but fiery, attitude and a fast-paced soundscape, Thousand Below are on the right path to shake up the music scene.
Singer James Deberg explains:
‘Sinking Me’ is the opening track of our record and we wanted to set the emotional tone for the album right out the gate with a high energy song that that lived on the ‘heavier’ spectrum of the record, but also carried heavy lyrical content. The song is the introduction to the emotional descent that the album is about. It’s the first immediate awareness of myself ‘going-under’ metaphorically as a result of the emotional stress that came from the losses I experienced in my life two years before the album was created. The clean vocals are much more aggressive on this song than others on the record. I wanted to paint the immediate pain and frustration of the loss I experienced pulling me under right out the gate, while also giving listeners something high energy and catchy to yell along with.
We feel ‘Tradition’ and ‘Sinking Me’ are great introductory songs for our band to come out the gate with and we’re so excited to get the rest of the record released before the end of the year.
