Super-Duo IMITATING AEROPLANES Share New Track ‘Stomping Ground’
Unboxing their second single of debut, Planet Language, supergroup, Imitating Aeroplanes raise the bar another notch.

Though Hourglass was a delightful first taste, Stomping Ground is the track that will really get your hopes up on the forthcoming debut.
With a bombastic chorus and a firm verse, Stomping Ground is an instant banger filled with glittering bridges and a tangible synth production to really get caught up in. The astonishing depth of the layered production co-exists perfectly with the bolder, heartfelt lyrics. The busting melody is a fine juxtapose to the doubt proclaimed by Marius Drogsås Hagen’s idiosyncratic voice: “Will the jigsaw make sense / And all the pieces fall into place / Or do we need to start again”. Stomping Ground is as much a bittersweet farewell to the familiar as it’s a bold dive into the unknown.
Tord Øverland Knudsen (The Wombats) explains:
‘Stomping Ground’ is about me moving back to Norway, or maybe more so, about leaving Liverpool and the life I had created there. It’s very optimistic, but also bittersweet; like feeling stuck between two places.
Imitating Aeroplanes‘ forthcoming album Planet Language is due out September 22nd via Propeller Recordings.
