LA-singer Cobi unveils Nobody Opened The Door of his new EP, Songs From The Ashes: Part 1.

The singer puts all faith in his vocals and lyrics as the sparse melody tingles in the background. The bluesy guitar underlines the narrative manifested in the lyrics. Though the emotive vocal shines, as a whole the song falls a little short, not reaching the emotional potential that’s expected of such production. The lyrics does indeed paint pictures, but feels fragmented at times.

When it’s all culminating in a massive crescendo with bombastic guitar, it feels almost outlandish to the previous nature of the melody, and though a grand ending is appreciated, it feels a little forced considered the nature of the tune itself.

Cobi states that:

‘Nobody Opened The Door’ is about a love that you are eventually forced to let go of. Despite your best efforts, the winds pull you apart and you’re forced to go down your own path. As you go though your journey, you remember the pain that love left you with, but you also realize that you wouldn’t be who you are without it.
