THE AWAY DAYS New Song Review // “World Horizon”

THE AWAY DAYS release new single, World Horizon.

World Horizon is the first cut to be taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, due for release in early 2017.

The Away Days are some sort of a phenomenon in their native Turkey as they continue to create a reality of a dreamy pop around them. Surely not an easy challenge, considering the dominance of the Western hemisphere on music scene. However, characteristics of the band such as political awareness and firm determination make it easier to express their opinions. In this case, just as many others, music is the best way to do so.

With two EP releases to date, the Istanbul’s four-piece return with a fresh track, World Horizon, giving us a tester of thrilling things to come.

The single is simply a quintessence of soothing harmonies but a little bit of urgency hailing from the notes makes it an intriguing offering. Shimmering guitars and steady bass lines, somehow unsettled drums and Can Ozen‘s fading but confident vocals, all create a captivating composition.

The band shortly says of the track:

This song is based on our lives in Istanbul, never ending lies, trapped in a “World Horizon“.
