PLAZA Create ‘Origami’ in New Single
The band takes a look back at the past in their latest track, Origami.
Hartlepool four-piece makes a thunderous entrance into 2017 as they unveil rapid new single.
A few months after we were graced by their previous release, Youth, PLAZA are ready to start the new year a big time. Origami is just the first offering taken from their upcoming EP, set to be released in Spring, and it sounds like an exciting future is waiting ahead.
The indomitable spirit hails from the track, there’s no doubt about it. The change of the tempo is swift at the chorus and brings bursts of energy along, and as the mood swings follow you start to shout back the lyrics “Take me away from it all”, unintentionally it may be.
Every note carries a significant emotional charge within, the kind that intrigues and scares at the same time. Nevertheless, you keep delving into the essence of the song. Layers of restless drums and ferocious guitar riffs work as a magnetic force to Bradley Lennard’s distant vocals shaping an impression of one’s inner struggle, if perhaps it’s better to let go of all the worries and leave everything behind.
Vocalist explains:
‘Origami’ is a song that we wrote whilst recording our first demos with our good friend Christopher Milnes. We recorded it in his flat in Leeds, all around his place where small pieces of origami he’d made. I remember thinking to myself how peaceful doing origami must be, kind of an emotional detachment from everything, which, lyrically has a large impact on the song. It was pieced together with the whole vibe we were going through at that moment.
