SALTWATER SUN Delight with New Single ‘Hot Mess’

If summer had a sound, then Saltwater Sun’s newest track is what it would sound like.

Reading quintet Saltwater Sun have shared their delightful new cut, Hot Mess, providing another example of their limitless potential and cementing the position of the guitar pop maestros as a force to keep an eye on in the indie landscape.

Dreamy vocals and a relaxed bass line float through to create a chilled vibe. The sound washes over you as the guitars fuzz away in the background, and the laid back speed makes this an ideal song to sip a lemonade to. As Jen Stearnes’ vocals croon over the speakers, the funky synths will transport you to a different dimension. The song is an impassioned plea to let go of any shackles and never take yourself too seriously. The chorus will sink deep into you with infectious melodies and a searing vocal performance, soaring above the woozy guitar texture like a knife cutting butter. A rolling bass line complements a more delicate, sultry vocal section in the bridge, and as we return to the feel-good chorus, it leaves the song ending on a high and you’ll be tempted to hit the repeat button.

Saltwater Sun will be touring around the UK in September.
