San Francisco quartet I The Mighty have decided to share their experience and advice in the humorous video for Pet Names, which also serves a guide on how to deal with the end of a relationship.

More specifically, it’s a 21 step plan for how to get over a bad breakup. With sensible advice such as taking a hot shower and focusing on bettering yourself, there are some silly scenes that add in a pinch of lightheartedness to the video.

Vocalist Brent Walsh said of the video:

Everyone has gone through a rough break up at some point. While the song deals with sorting through that relatable process in an unhealthy way, we thought it would be fun for the video to do the exact opposite, giving you our 21 step process for getting over a rough break up. Unlike any video we’ve made yet, much of our time filming was spent improvising and having tons of fun experimenting with different ideas.

Pet Names is taken from the band’s most recent album Where The Mind Wants To Go / Where You Let It Go.

I The Mighty are set to perform at Reading & Leeds Festivals this weekend.
