SOMEONE Releases New Track ‘Pull It Together’
The newest cut from Someone is a must-listen for any psych-pop fan.
Amsterdam multi-disciplinary artist Someone, aka Tessa Rose Jackson, is back with new single Pull It Together, which will feature on her upcoming EP Orbit. A swirling cut of guitars and psychedelic melodies, it boasts an infectious chorus that is reminiscent of 90s electronica. With a sound indebted to Tame Impala and Air, perhaps it’s no surprise that the melodies flourish and blossom, washing over you blissfully.
Combining her creative drive with her music, Someone aims to explore the intensity of the fusion of art and music in a way to enhance each other. To do so, she has created an augmented reality exhibition which will be presented in gallery spaces in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and Paris. Bringing in cutting edge technology, she blends abstract art including elements of space and planets and her music. When the art is viewed through a tablet or phone, the track linked to the artwork will start playing, and the art will react accordingly to the music, dynamically building as the track progresses. The viewer can also interact with the art, touching their screens which the art will respond to.
Focused on the metaphor of orbiting planets to provide commentary on our overstimulated generation, it suggests that we are ‘orbiting’ around each other as opposed to truly connecting as a result of the time spent on our phones and social media. With this in mind, the ‘Orbit’ exhibition aims to create a focused space away from these distractions, allowing the public to fully immerse themselves in the works of Someone.
