PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS Question if You’re ‘Keen For Kick Ons?’

You never know quite what to expect with this band, but either way, you know it’s going to be mind blowing.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets 2019

Perth quartet Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are a bit like a wildcard of the psychedelic rock scene; you never quite know what they’re going to come out with next. However, whatever they produce is guaranteed to be a banger that will have you rocking out to the incendiary riffs. In their latest track, Keen For Kick Ons?, there are certainly no shortage of meaty riffs for listeners to dig their teeth into, as well as soaring vocals that will whiz you into their electrifying world.

The visuals do not disappoint either; this time, it’s set within an arcade game. As cartoon versions of the band battle against dinosaurs, giant robots and a freakishly large octopus, the energy is captured by the frenetic riffs as the band shred away underneath. It’s a delightful watch to say the least, and will make you wish that whatever game simulation they’re in is actually available at arcades.

Revealing more details about the visuals, frontman Jack McEwan says:

We originally put out a pitch asking for animators to create an energetic music video that explodes out of Keith Richards’ left nostril and ends up in a Mighty Boosh skit, primarily aimed at troopers who put DMT in their Cheerios. Ollie [Oliver Jones, director] quickly got in contact and pitched us with this great idea that explored a variety of different animation styles. We loved the concept as the album travels through a bunch of twisting passages resembling a collage of sound, Kick Ons is one connecting piece in the Pez dispenser and that overload of jam packed flavour is what we’re about. We love the energy Ollie has captured and it gives the song an extra quirky push which we’re always game for.
