PREMIERE // NORTH AMERICA Unveil New Track ‘Your Lips Are For Kissing (Acoustic)’
Heartbreakingly tender, North America reach into the deepest part of your heart with their emotional new track Your Lips Are For Kissing (Acoustic).
There is a lesson to be learnt when a relationship comes to an end, when we grapple with our feelings and face the realisation that sometimes, it doesn’t matter what we do because we’re just not the one for the other person. It’s a bittersweet feeling, and North America know exactly what it feels like.
Their latest track, Your Lips Are For Kissing (Acoustic) is inflamed with sadness, with a glimmer of hope veiled behind the delicate beauty of the track. Prepare your tissues, because it’s a track that will bring tears to your eyes; frontman P.F. Phillips’ achingly raw vocals gently caress you whilst subdued acoustic guitars bring a stunning quality to the track that shows you the beauty of simplicity. The ethereal lightness of the harmonies are contrasted with the poetic lyricism that weigh upon your heart with their emotional burden, and you’re pierced by the intense melancholia that lie at the core of this track. But at the end of the day, you’ll find a way to make your way out of the darkness, and reconcile with your feelings to come to peace.
P.F. Phillip explains the track, saying:
The song is about coming to terms with the contradicting emotions of a relationship coming to an end. There’s a lot of anguish in turning away from someone you care for, or had cared for, because you’ll only hurt each other more by being together – and from that also comes a sense of peace, knowing that one day they’ll find the love they deserve.
