TWISTED WHEEL Share Sentimental New Track ‘DNA’
Holding nothing back, the dramatic DNA gives fans a further taste of the band’s forthcoming album.
Saddleworth’s Twisted Wheel have had their fair share of ups and downs over the past decade, but their newest track DNA is definitely pushing towards the upper end of this swing. The track is taken from their forthcoming album, which is set for release in November. An exhilarating journey of flashy guitars and melodramatic vocals, it’s a roaring engine of rock and roll – think along the lines of Queen or Oasis, and you’ll have the stirring DNA. A dedication towards lead singer Jonny Brown’s late mother, it comes as no surprise that it’s a track packed with raw emotion, searing intensity and yet-to-be-healed grief.
Losing a parent is never an easy thing, and none more so than for Brown, who spent 4 weeks by her side on a hospital floor in Spain. In dire need of rest, he travelled back to her apartment one night, to later receive the devastating news that she passed away. In tragic moments like this, the magic of music can truly shine as it acts as a catharsis and a way to capture all of the overwhelming emotions, providing a way forward from the melancholy.
