WATERPARKS Release Video for ‘Dream Boy’
Mixing in humour with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Waterparks are back with another cutting track for you to love.
Waterparks have shared the video for Dream Boy, after debuting the track on the largest US radio station Sirius XM Hits 1. The debut came about after the band challenged fans to get #DREAMBOYHITS1 trending as a top 5 topic on Twitter in exchange for an early play of the track on the radio station. Fans quickly fulfilled this and got the hashtag to number 4, which marks the band’s first play on the station.
Now, the band has shared the video for the track which will feature on their upcoming album FANDOM which will be released on October 11th. Directed by frontman Awsten Knight, the video marks his second directorial work and keeping in character with his meticulous thought process, combines elements of humour, mystery and references to past work. With jerky movements as previously seen in the video for Watch What Happens Next, this time the band takes the viewer on a ride in a red car.
Explaining more of the track, Awsten says:
DREAM BOY IS ABOUT FAN EXPECTATIONS AND FEELING LIKE I’M CONSTANTLY BEING BUILT UP INTO SOMEONE/SOMETHING I CAN NEVER LIVE UP TO, WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO EVERYONE BEING DISAPPOINTED.
