Artist Of The Week // ALEXANDER WOOD
Get ready to dance with the infectious new tune from Alexander Wood.
When most of us think about being 19, having starred in award winning musicals and judging French TV talent shows do not tend to be our typical memories yet French American musician Alexander Wood is certainly an exception to the average 19 year old. With this in mind, it may come as no surprise that his new single 1984 is utterly captivating with its pulsating beats and euphoric melodies. Designed to get your feet moving, Alexander’s rich and powerful vocals soar over playful electronics, whilst the vivid lyricism makes you wish you’re in a club when the track comes on.
Charmed by the track and the young artist, we got to know Alexander a little bit better.
What’s a motto you live by?
Just making sure my young self would be proud.
If your sound had a colour, what colour would it be?
If you could set 1984 to a movie, which movie would it be the soundtrack to?
Any movie that is about change.
What is the main theme you wanted to get across with 1984?
How did your previous musical endeavours help shape you into the artist you are now?
Every experience is about the people involved. That’s how the music grows.
What’s been your fondest memory of music?
Growing up blasting my favourite tunes in the garden while no one was around.
And finally, what does music mean to you?
It just coexists with how I feel and think. It’s like a mirror.
