MURA MASA Unveils New Single ‘Teenage Headache Dreams’ (with Ellie Rowsell)
The Wolf Alice collab is the final teaser of Mura Masa’s much-anticipated second album R.Y.C (Raw Youth Collage), out later this month.
Ahead of the release of his second album R.Y.C (Raw Youth Collage), out on January 17th, Mura Masa has shared a stunning new track, Teenage Headache Dreams, featuring Wolf Alice frontwoman Ellie Rowsell.
Tapping into the memories of youth, Teenage Headache Dreams is a nostalgia-inducing and sonically captivating cut. With a bittersweet tinge, the track dazzles with a broad array of vibrant textures and swirling sounds. Ellie’s wistful vocals complement Alex’s warm tone, adding a dreamy quality to the already wonderful offering.
Mura Masa believes that the song might contain the album’s ultimate message; the fact that (he says) “it’s possible to feel happy even if it means relying on something that isn’t necessarily true, or is half-imagined, or might not even have happened at all. If we can find a shared remembrance of a good time, we’re more likely to be able to find that again. A little bit of escapism is healthy.”
Mura Masa is set to head out on a world tour next month. Catch him at the following dates.
February
20 – London, Alexandra Palace
22 – Manchester, O2 Victoria Warehouse
