JAKE WHISKIN Unveils Stunning New Single ‘Electric’
Jake Whiskin tries to unfold the ‘blurred lines between fun and destructive’ on melancholic new single Electric.
The Leeds singer/songwriter seems to be in for a pleasantly busy workload this year as he releases a follow-up to his striking debut Dark Days, and further establishes his distinctively dark anthemic sonics.
Electric is an atmospheric acoustic guitar driven track, underlying Jake’s emotively nostalgic vocals that will make you sympathise with its lyrical theme that tackles life’s plain routine and its ups and downs.
Speaking of the new track, Jake Whiskin explained:
‘Electric’ is a song about bad habits, getting stuck in the weekend cycle and the effect that has on your relationships and sanity. I’ve just found there are blurred lines between fun and destructive, and the song is me trying to understand and navigate that. It’s a song for people caught in the weekly grind and following a path to belong; but ultimately feeling lost.
Keep an eye for Jake’s debut EP release this summer and catch his set on the following festivals, with more to be announced soon.
