YOUNGER HUNGER Reveal Video for ‘YUNG’
Younger Hunger unveil what it feels like to be young in 2020 in infectious new anthem YUNG.
The Orange County three-piece Younger Hunger are making a statement comeback this year by continuing to follow their distinctive route of creating “lo-fi beats you can’t study to”. Their latest playful track, YUNG, ‘highlights the effects of omnipresent paranoia’, marking the band’s sonics as ones you’ll struggle to box in as they sound bolder than ever compared to previous hits Second Best and Dead Inside.
Speaking about the new single, frontman Tony Davia explains:
YUNG is me trying to capture my omnipresent paranoia in a song. It started with the title. Something about the aesthetic of the word YUNG — the boldness of it. But as the lyrics started coming, it became clear it stood for a much larger idea. YUNG asks the question: What does it feel like to be young in 2020? This track is our answer.
With commanding powerful vocals, a compelling guitar work, soothing electro synths and continuous punchy drums, the single perfectly captures how your early 20s feel and the TikTok sensation Younger Hunger are not afraid to demonstrate that on the visual adaptation. Holding nothing back and pushing their boundaries to the maximum, the trio are strolling around the public places of Los Angeles and causing an absolute chaos as they proudly announce “Laundry pods / Exploding phones / … / Fuck your art / We’ll need to change your curly hair for a start /… / They’re comin’ for my life.”
