PALAYE ROYALE Release Artistic Video for New Single ‘Little Bastards’

With a catchy, resounding chorus and vulnerability in the lyrics, Palaye Royale clearly define their newest era through the release of Little Bastards.

Palaye Royale 2019

Little Bastards is the latest single and the opening track off the upcoming album, The Bastards from JUNO-nominated rockers, Palaye Royale. The memorable bassline that kicks off the song reverberates deeply as the chorus swells between verses. Lyrics like “so fuck you, I don’t even like you” convey the ire felt towards fake friends. The music is enhanced with the music video, featuring animation in the style of their upcoming graphic novel that is written and drawn by the band’s drummer, Emerson Barrett, and XO Billie. The gothic manor where Little Bastards takes place is set to feature in the graphic novel and provides the perfect dreary backdrop for the content of The Bastards.

For those of you who dabbled in Guitar Hero back in the day, you may be reminded of Bulls On Parade by Rise Against the Machine during the bridge when the high notes and fingerslides kick in when listening to Little Bastards. The heavier vocals and instrumentation help showcase the ever-expanding repertoire of Palaye Royale.

Speaking on the new song and video, guitarist Sebastian Danzig says:

‘Little Bastards’ is the opening track from our third album, The Bastards. Musically we show the direction of the album all in a single track. The vulnerability, the truth and the aggression all wrapped together in a three and a half minute track which will set the listener up for what is to come for the next 14 tracks and what corners we will touch.

Lyrically it trails from our latest release ‘Lonely’ but displaying the frustration and anger towards individuals that are meant to be friends.

Visually we wanted to display our current state which is complete isolation from the world; trapped inside a house but yet the toxic society has found its way inside. We have to “band” together to keep our circle of trust and honesty tight.

The Bastards will be out May 29th via Sumerian Records.
