HOLDING ABSENCE Unveil Infectious New Single ‘Birdcage’
Even though we might all feel like we’re in a bit of a Birdcage right now, you’re sure to find some liberation in the newest Holding Absence single from emotions holding you back.
Welsh quintet Holding Absence have shared the second single to appear on the double-sided picture disk of their debut album in the form of catchy new single Birdcage. The single sees the group taking a road less wandered previously, as they meld in more pop influences and melodic elements yet the result is no less cathartic and hard-hitting than their heavier material. Sensory lyricism complements evocative vocals to transport the listener to a realm of emotional release, lessening mental burdens and encapsulating feelings that many fail to put into words.
Explaining more of the track, vocalist Lucas Woodland shares:
‘Birdcage’ is probably the most poppy track we’ve ever released as Holding Absence, and we’re really proud of the outcome. Working with Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon/Twin Atlantic/Don Broco) gave us the great opportunity to refine our sound in a way we’d not yet tried before, so the aim for this track was to make it as catchy and sleek as possible. We’re very happy with the outcome and can’t wait for people to get their hands on the double-sided picture disk!
