SG LEWIS Returns With New Single ‘Chemicals’

SG Lewis serves first tease off his upcoming debut album with a summery, ethereal new single, Chemicals.

SG Lewis 2020

Last week saw singer, songwriter and producer SG Lewis return with brand new single Chemicals, following a successful year in 2018 with his three-chapter project Dusk, Dark, Dawn EP release. 2019 was a busy year for the multi instrumentalist too though; travelling around the globe for his sold out headline shows, securing prime slots at acclaimed festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury ware only a few examples as to what cemented his well deserved status as one of London’s hottest new talents.

Adding another dazzling track to his catalogue, the funky disco Daft Punk-infused track sees SG Lewis on lead Tame Impala-like ethereal vocals duty with an infectious bass line that showcases his artistic growth. The easy listening summer soundtrack is the first drop off SG Lewis’ highly anticipated debut album with more details to be announced soon.

Speaking of the newest single, he comments:

‘Chemicals’ is about being convinced to try something new by someone you are infatuated with, and the emotions that follow. It’s about feeling helpless knowing the control that person has over you, but knowing that deep down you love that fact. The song is written about one specific night out I experienced in London a while back. I started the song late one night in LA with Julian Bunetta, then Steph Jones helped us lyric the song the next day. Finally, Julian and I were working with Chad (Hugo, N*E*R*D/The Neptunes) the next week, and we got him to play the synth line you hear.
