CULTURES Share Touching New Single ‘Away From Us’

The bruising new track from Cultures is delightful guitar-driven music that you can’t help but love.

Cultures 2020

Greater Manchester may not seem like the most likely meeting spot for a melding hot-pot of sonic influences, but that’s precisely where Cultures have married the sound of alternative rock and indie pop to create an innovative guitar-heavy sound that is equal parts poignant and catchy. Newest single Away From Us sees the band honing their idiosyncratic brand of alternative music to deliver a rousing performance that will pierce straight into your core. From the subtly placed, fluttering snare beats to the evocative guitar line, it’s a wonderful cacophony that will wrap you in a torrent of mellifluous sound.

Frontman Josh Spivey explains:

‘Away From Us’ is about the feeling you get when you leave home for the first time and find your feet in the world. I wrote the lyrics when I first lived away from Manchester about the people in my life at the time and the way they were rocks for me then. The line “you’re my home now” reflects that feeling of finding the person or people that you can cling to when you start out in the world.
