Sprightly piano works in tandem with Monroe’s soulfully smooth vocals, keeping pace as the layers and emotion blossom beautifully. Lyrically, it’s as if he has a paintbrush in his hand. More than “a sky of pink and purple hues”, Pink And Purple is a vivid and raw exposition on grappling with your emotions. It is dimensional simplicity at its finest.
