BLACK HONEY Release Spellbinding Video for New Single ‘Believer’

Believer is a ‘foot-stomping, cathartic experience’ – what more would we expect from Black Honey?

Black Honey 2021

Brighton’s finest quartet Black Honey have just dropped their new single, Believer, taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Written & Directed, set for release on March 19th. If this track is anything to go off, then we’re in for one hell of a ride.

The world looks and sounds like a very different place to what it was when Black Honey made their debut, and their new material contains the aggression and angst we all feel, stamping its mark all over 2021. Believer is made entirely by the music video, which is set in a dusty Mexican village as Izzy B. Phillips heads on a wild ride to find Jesus. With the impact of more of a short film than a music video, Black Honey leave our jaws on the floor.

Written & Directed has one aim, and one aim only: to unashamedly plant a flag in the ground for strong, world-conquering women. Front-woman Izzy B. Phillips wants so badly to inspire her fanbase and be the strong, female figure she missed out on seeing when she was growing up and getting into music.

Speaking on the new single, Izzy shares:

‘Believer’ is a song to accompany your existential crisis. I wanted a religious satire that was eye rolling at all the patriarchal nonsense of spiritual sense of self. I wanna believe in me, the outsider and the underdog. It’s like coming of age, coming out and coming up.

“I’m a believer, baby.” Are you?
