Introducing their nostalgia-tinged, indie-laced rock sound, DUDE, MY DUDE are the newest duo to keep your eyes on.

Picture this scene; it’s late 2019, you’ve engorged in maybe a few too many cans of Dr. Pepper and have adrenaline flowing through you as you enter a jam session with your friend. You don’t quite have the fancy equipment to transform the musical ideas that are currently residing in your head, but you won’t let that stop your creativity and so you record a demo on an iPhone. That’s the story of how duo DUDE, MY DUDE and their debut single Loser came about. And after a few studio sessions and polishing up, the final product is the introductory mark that the duo makes on the world.

With swaggering guitars and a woozy nostalgic line that runs throughout, Loser will have you bobbing your head along to the swaying melodies. There’s a touch of rawness maintained, originating from the first iPhone demo they recorded and it feels fitting for the tongue-in-cheek lyricism as the song espouses the tale of a night out – or in the duo’s words, it ‘recounts the classic events that accompany a walk home after a night out: losing your phone, your friends, and lamenting your situation as you eat a cold portion of cheesy chips.’ Although we might not be able to do that right now, we’re mentally taken back to those scenes within Loser and we’ll reminisce upon the good times past as we look to days ahead.
