THE CRYING VIOLETS Share New Single ‘Broken Dreams Club’

A place of unity and comfort, The Crying Violets welcome listeners to the Broken Dreams Club.

The Crying Violets

Nottingham-based, dream-pop trio The Crying Violets have an irresistible sound that amalgamates perfectly into a 2014-Tumblr, coming-of-age movie aesthetic. Hues of purple and cloudy sunsets are what come to mind when pressing play on their music, and it really is something to behold. Thus far in their musical journey, The Crying Violets have released five tracks, the latest being Broken Dreams Club.

Floaty, otherworldly melodies really do put forward the impression of a dream-world, making it feel like rainbows and sunshine. The lyrics, though, oppose this entirely, as Broken Dreams Club is written about what it says on the tin: a club for those with broken dreams. However deep and meaningful the lyricism is, the soft instrumentals and overall composition of the song makes it feel a little more optimistic. Sit back, close your eyes, and sink into the dream The Crying Violets have depicted for you.

On the track, the band explain:

‘Broken Dreams Club’ is an imaginary bar. Somewhere you can go if you haven’t achieved your dreams, for a sense of unity and comfort, because everyone is in there for the same reasons. We love the juxtaposition of a sombre lyric with happy melodies.
