OLIVE FEATHERSTONE Debuts With ‘Opium Requiem’

A relationship, lost, is explored in Opium Requiem, the debut single from Olive Featherstone.

OLIVE FEATHERSTONE

Olivia Jasmine Noonan, perhaps better known as Olive Featherstone, is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter, creating and singing songs about her life experiences. She has already come up with the concept for her first album – which covers relationships, addiction, and finding yourself – and is in the process of bringing that to life, starting with the debut single, Opium Requiem.

A concoction of indie, bedroom dream-pop, and smooth soul, Olive has dived straight in at the deep end and put her all into Opium Requiem, showing her range and fluidity of genre. Juxtaposing soft yet energetic melodies combine with Olive’s sweet and soothing vocals to provide a little light in spite of the darker meaning. A gorgeous debut, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

On the single, Olive Featherstone commented:

I wrote this song at the end of a turbulent relationship with someone who would be awake whilst I was sleeping in the same room – he’d be sat by the window, smoking and watching people go by. I always thought that symbolised the distance we have between us in that relationship.
