RESA SAFFA PARK Gets Honest With New Single ‘Candles’
With honest vocals taking the forefront, Candles allows Resa Saffa Park to explore her vulnerabilities.
Musician Resa Saffa Park has had quite the journey to where she is; having been born in Dubai, she then moved to Liverpool to fine-tune her sound, before turning to Oslo where she is currently based. It has lent itself to a more mature sound, imbued with whispers of wisdom and experience that translates into soulful vocals and ardent melodies. Bringing together her love for more classic jazz and modern influences, the result is a hybrid that offers fresh elements within her musicality while still retaining a slightly old soul that you won’t be able to resist. Sharing her sophomore single Candles, it’s lifted from her forthcoming EP and teases as an indicator of what’s to come.
Swaying gently with rocking melodies, you’re almost immediately placed at ease within the mellow tempo, before the heartfelt lyricism takes over to draw a spark and connection between the listener and Resa. As the chorus kicks in, an additional layer brings more animation and life to the track that will be sure to rouse and move. Her vocals have a slightly emotional quiver that makes you realise the genuineness of her feelings behind the track, and the deeply emotional core that you can’t but feel touched by. It leaves a lot to be excited about with her upcoming EP, and we can’t wait to see where she’ll take us next.
