There’s Surely ‘Something Here’ as DAY WAVE Unveils New Track

Musician’s debut album to finally arrive in May this year.

Something Here is the newest song from Day Wave and isn’t it delightful.

As soon as the song begins we are welcomed by strumming guitars and a choir of vocals follows. Signature Day Wave, the vocals melt in your ears, angelic and smooth. The Californian, Jackson Phillips has us in a sense of disillusioned, what sounds like a half conscious state and trying to find our place.

“Turning around / To touch the ground / I feel that I’m nothing real.” Whether that is physically or psychologically, that’s to be debated but in true Day Wave style the song falls right into place. It doesn’t linger, like all of his songs, its directness is a sign of true confidence.

Every song of his is like the perfect soundtrack of life on a sunny day. The 80’s piano that comes in at the chorus perfectly amplifies it and carries the song to the conclusion. Something Here is a follow-up to his previous melodious single, Wasting Time, and you can stream it below.

We have to wait a little longer for him to venture our way, May 23rd at The Garage. In anticipation of his debut LP he can bring those sunny west coast vibes across to London anytime.

The Days We Had is set for release on May 5th via Harvest Records.
