Låpsley releases gorgeous new single “Hurt Me”

Guys, I’ve come to the new conclusion. As it turns out, my playlist has too much testosterone at the moment. Like a lot. My heart has been struggling. This is why I feel like adding some female artists onto it. Any girls out there making good music? Please, get in touch. I could really use some recommendations.

As for now, I’ve done some re-check and I’ve found two ladies. One of them is Låpsley (Holly Låpsley Fletcher) and I reckon I’ll start with her today. About the second one I’ll tell you another time.

Southport born singer-songwriter brought in the Hottest Record In The World last night premiering her new single Hurt Me.

Making music in her bedroom whilst should’ve been revising for her A-levels. Coming from rather classical background (Fletcher plays piano, guitar and oboe) and using vocal as instruments when splitting her own she turns towards minimal electronic direction. After adding very strong and mature (for a 19-year-old) lyrics we get quite a nice blend of the entire musical experience.

Yesterday in a conversation with Annie Mac Låpsley described the song as very personal and added:

I’ve been in the studio for about a year now working on a stuff for the album and trying out and experiment with loads of different sounds. I listen to a lot of genres but this one (“Hurt Me”) seems a lot more pop than anything I’ve ever written before but still got the synth, the top lines.

Låpsley is somewhere in the middle of making the album which should be released early next year.

Now let’s chill to these gentle and beautiful sounds on this autumn day we’re having in August. I miss summer by the way.

The track comes out as a double-side single with the song Burn October 9.
