COLOUR OF SPRING Unveil New Single ‘Echoes’
The newest addition to Leeds’s thriving music scene, Colour of Spring, unveil Echoes the lead single of their forthcoming self-titled EP.
Like a portal into a different dimension, Echoes opens with an abstract haze before the melody takes shape in the form of reverb soaked guitar. The noisy shoegaze infused aspect is even out by a sludgy melodic vocal, the courtesy of Shane Hunter. The stoic dazed effect remains throughout the tune, making a momentum. Though blurred through the drapes of echoes and sounds, the lyrics are worth giving a second listen. Delving into eternal themes of youth and adolescence slipping away, it is a capturing tale.
Songwriter and bassist Tom Gregory stated:
‘Echoes’ is about losing the innocence of youth. As you enter your teenage years you’re told to grow up and take responsibility and some of the beauty of childhood is gone. We probably spend a lot of time as adults trying to regain that side to us that we lose. ‘Echoes’ is about how we each deal with this in our own funny way.
Colour of Spring’s self-titled debut EP is out 23rd June via House of Love Records.
