BRING ME THE HORIZON Return with Massive New Track ‘MANTRA’

They are back.

Following a period of cryptic messages and posters teasing new material, Bring Me The Horizon have returned with a brand new song, MANTRA, new album announcement and new tour dates.

When a billboard with a question “Do you wanna start a cult with me?” (which turned out to be the opening lyric of the new track), a phone number and familiar iconography was spotted in London earlier this month, we all knew they were coming back. The mysterious promo continued as a new website started offering “salvation”, leading us to this very moment.

“Before the truth will set you free / It’ll piss you off” we hear on MANTRA, which is a searing cut that blends the best elements of the band’s old and new style. The flipping in dynamics between a verse and a chorus is what makes this track extremely exciting. We’ve got pounding drums and heavy guitars, intertwining with some lighter tones within a thrilling wall of sounds. As Oli Sykes’ vocals go from melodic tones to angry screams in an instant, a dark electronic infusion will keep you on the edge. Of course, it wouldn’t be a BMTH song if it didn’t tackled some thought-provoking themes, such as faith, conformity and human existence. And by the end, we all will be ready to say ‘Yes’ to that question they’ve been asking since this whole thing started.

Speaking to Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, frontman Oli Sykes said on the new track:

We wanna do heavy in a completely different way. We wanna do catchy in a completely different way. It’s quite different but it’s got similarities – it’s what we wanted to share with the world.

MANTRA is the first taste of the band’s sixth studio album, Amo, set to be released on January 11th 2019.

The band have also announced UK & EU tour titled ‘First Love’ for November this year. Tickets go on sale on August 31st. Catch them at the following dates.
