NO ROME Shares New Single ‘Cashmoney’
A blend of lush electronics and sultry beats, the newest single from No Rome is completely irresistible.
No Rome shares a tantalizing taste of his upcoming sophomore EP Crying In The Prettiest Places in the form of newest single Cashmoney. The EP is set to be released on May 3rd via Dirty Hit, and if Cashmoney is anything to judge the EP by, then May can’t come soon enough.
Creating his own off-kilter brand of pop that integrates influences from R&B, the exquisite textures of Cashmoney furthers this effortless sound and entices you to join No Rome as he continues to chisel his own corner of the sonic universe. Playful lyrics sit on top of groovy, syncopated electronics and a delicate twinkle that adds in an extra glimmer. Bringing in a teasing tone, No Rome playfully spins on the clichés of living luxuriously, in a world of branded material to capture the heights of fashion into a musical context.
No Rome speaks of the origins of the track, recalling:
I wrote Cashmoney when I was 16 and working in a call centre in Manila. I’ve always written songs about fashion: it’s an inspiration and form of expression for me. I just never really knew how to put it in a pop context before.
No Rome is set to come back to the UK over summer to play a few festivals; you can catch him at the following ones.
