PREMIERE // LONA Unveil New Single ‘Black Paradise’
LONA are in the search for happiness in new hard-edged soulful single Black Paradise.
Nothing seems to stop the Liverpool quartet as they are premiering their new explosive track after a successful year which saw them heading out on a UK headline tour accompanying their new sound.
Unlike previous singles She’s With Me and Shangri La, the newest release finds the band going for a calmer and slower sound this time, almost to what you would expect from a collaboration between Bastille and Post Malone. Starting off with low key captivating piano notes and soothing tech vocals (think of Tones and I in ‘Dance Monkey’ vocals) and soon elapsing to a darker R&B electronic sound, Black Paradise is definitely one you’ll remember.
“Someone reach out, make me laugh, don’t make me cry and I might make it out alive”, emotionally croons the vocalist on the track. As explained by the band members themselves:
‘Black Paradise’, a tale of two lovers both battling through a dark depression. So desperate, they decide they search for happiness alone. Setting each other free seems like the only option. But realise their only chance of survival is together.
Definitely set to be included in the next episode of your Netflix drama show soundtrack, keep an eye to find out what 2020 has in hand for LONA.
