HOLDING ABSENCE Share Blistering New Single ‘Gravity’

Finessing all of the things you loved about Holding Absence and taking it to an even higher level, Gravity marks the first new material from the band since their debut album (2019) and reminds us of how much we missed hearing from them.

Holding Absence 2020

In times of uncertainty, you can always count on Holding Absence to pick you back up and provide some platform of stability with their masterful lyricism that are attuned to the fine shifts in our mental thoughts and emotions. The band once again demonstrates this ability with their newest single Gravity, a pulverising, annihilating cut that will hit you at the core both musically and lyrically. From the brazen drum opening to the soaring chorus, it marks a clear growth from the band and builds upon their already-impressive abilities to create something that is undeniably impactful.

Speaking more of the single, vocalist Lucas Woodland shares:

We feel like it’s a real step forward in maturity and quality for our band! The song was originally going to be put on our sophomore album but, after our VISAs got denied and our US tour got cancelled, we decided we should make the best of a bad situation and work towards getting it out as soon as possible. We’re always trying our best as a band to release music as often and unconventionally as possible, so putting out another Double-A single release is something we’re super excited about, and we can’t wait to show people the second track ‘Birdcage’ in the coming weeks.

The band was scheduled to tour with CREEPER in April, but dates have now been rescheduled to August in light of the COVID-19 situation. You can catch them on the following dates.
