LARRY PINK THE HUMAN Introduce Themselves With ‘LOVE YOU, BYE.’

Creativity truly has no bounds, as LARRY PINK THE HUMAN unveil themselves as the newest musical offshoot to grace our ears.

Larry Pink The Human 2020There’s no shortages of projects born from talented collaborators within the music industry, and the latest to join the line-up are eclectic duo LARRY PINK THE HUMAN. The duo consists of super-producer and songwriter Jolyon Thomas, who has worked with the likes of M83, U2 and Royal Blood, and Laurie Vincent, who forms half of Slaves. When you merge the two creative identities together, you’re left with a lo-fi, shoegazey result that acts as the perfect soundtrack for pondering the meaning of our existence, as demonstrated in LOVE YOU, BYE.

Introducing themselves and setting out their ambitions, Laurie states:

LARRY PINK THE HUMAN is an ideal. A place created first and foremost to explore my personal thoughts and feelings. A chance to share my perspective lyrically. The key part of LPTH is saying yes, being open, seeking growth and facing problems that seem daunting and almost insurmountable. It is a leap into the unknown, because if we never tried we would never know.

There is so much more of ourselves we still want to explore and achieve. LPTH spilled out of my chaos-fuelled mind during the establishment of a ‘comfortable’ life, a deep desire to turn left when everyone expects you to turn right. I feel the essence of LPTH is me truly becoming myself for the first time.

John continues:

LARRY PINK THE HUMAN is a realisation of the music that Laurie and I both love. Mixing and matching styles and colours, with no limits to what is allowed or feasible. Every creation is made by us in our world but reflects the outside with our own lens. In fact LPTH is the lens.

We both have backgrounds in the visual arts (Laurie’s paintings and myself a member of Youth Hymns) so we are naturally bringing the visual to the forefront of the band. LPTH is: The artwork/song/production/clothing/visual as an all encompassing breathing concept. Once we combine all of this we are LARRY PINK THE HUMAN.

The duo has breathed life into this ethos with the music video for LOVE YOU, BYE. where strangers are invited to share a personal story alongside items close to their hearts. The cast’s narrative is told to a balloon acting as a councillor; an ethereal being listening freely with no ability to retort; no judgement. Intended to draw upon our shared element of humanity, the video serves as a reminder that we all carry our own scars and have our own stories to tell, a difference that we all have in common to bind us together.
