From the slick riffs to the undeniably infectious hook, upbeat and wildly energetic are just two ways to describe the latest single, Wolf Boy, from Canadian pop-punkers Incase We Crash.

Incase We Crash 2020

If you’re looking for some fun and fresh pop-punk, Incase We Crash certainly deserve a spot on your radar with their latest single Wolf Boy. The Toronto-based trio made up of Simon Austin (Vocals + Guitar), Alex Koval (Guitar), and Tyler Twigger (Drums) have been making a name for themselves locally with their lighthearted, energetic sound. Catchy guitar riffs and thunderous drums couple with strong vocals to create a song you’ll want to have on repeat. The vocal inflections in lines like “silly little wolf boy” and “I’m not down for the game that you’re playing” drag you fully into the song (as if you weren’t already hooked from the start). All of these delectable qualities pair perfectly with the unexpected timing shift before the second chorus, adding one more dynamic element to the lively and playful Wolf Boy. Watch the video to see frontman Simon Austin’s floating head mouth along to the words as he flies down Rainbow Road as Luigi in Mario Kart or dodges a Bullet Bill in Super Mario Bros.

Speaking on the song, Incase We Crash said:

‘Wolf Boy’ is inspired by the typical ‘cliche’ characters that exist within our local music scene (indie rocker, scene kid, metalhead, pop punk kid etc.), and the underlying message is that everyone takes themselves a bit too seriously. So in contrast to that, this song is about having fun and being who you want to be while dismissing judgement from others.

Wolf Boy is included on their forthcoming EP, Soul Paint, due out independently June 26th.
