Laden with funk grooves, Great Mountain Fire prepare us for late summer nights with Caroline.

Based in Brussels, Great Mountain Fire are a five-piece funk/soul/dark pop/little bit of everything band who have just dropped their latest track, Caroline. A song written about the androgynous legend, Caroline, who roamed the streets of Brussels, Great Mountain Fire pay tribute to them, all the while wondering “where is the good girl we had?”

Ethereal and groovy in equal measure, Caroline uses synthesizers and undulating guitars to create a sensual, post-disco trip. The band described the inspiration for the track as thus:

A man dressed as a woman, amusing and at the same time intimidating by their strange freedom, a kind of new wave Cleopatra, of which we only knew the name, transmitted by word of mouth, and which we often saw wandering when we were teenagers but who seems to have disappeared overnight.
