LIL LATE Unveils Woozy New Single ‘Call Me?’
Burning with an ardent desire, Call Me? explores our desire to be accepted and loved even if we know that it will inevitably end in hurt and heartbreak.
Rooted in Dhaka and based in Los Angeles, Lil Late invites you to get lost in his pulsating and hazy sonic sphere. With his newest single Call Me?, he lets you in upon his vulnerabilities as he shares honest lyricism about his desire to be accepted by those who he knows are bad for him and have hurt him in the past. It’s a feeling that a few too many of us can relate to, yet there’s something intoxicating about this unhealthy yearning for approval and love that keeps us crawling back for more, even if it will inevitably end with no good coming out of it for either party. Complementing the heartfelt lyricism with swaying synths and coaxing vocals, he creates an immersive sound that is irresistibly hypnotic and you’ll find yourself transported into his headspace for the duration of the track.
Speaking more on the release, Lil Late says:
Being honest about how you feel is hard and that’s what ‘Call Me?’ is really based on. The lyrics were inspired by a pretty common, albeit toxic situation where you want the person who hurt you, back in your life even though you know better.
