THE SATELLITE STATION Drops Cinematic Track ‘Shelter’
Raw and emotive, The Satellite Station has produced an epic in every aspect of that word with his new single, Shelter.

When an artist writes from the perspective of another the song can either turn out very well (see: Taylor Swift) or come off as horrifically insincere. The Satellite Station’s new epic, Shelter, falls into the former. Speaking from the perspective of a young Jewish couple in World War II, the robust instrumentation and harrowing lyrics passionately collide to convey the message of true, uninhibited love. Travis Rue, the man behind the moniker, captures fear in speedy staccato, romance in the haunting strings, and pain in the wavering vocals. Shelter, though rooted firmly in its history lesson, is also a powerful love song for the present. Do not skip this one.
On the track, Rue said:
I wrote this song the week after all the Covid lockdowns started in the US. So while this song is not about the current crisis, the fear and stress of the time definitely had an influence.
