HALFWAY ATLANTIC Drop New Lovelorn Pop-Punk Track ‘Phantom Pain’
Titled Phantom Pain the near four-minute track is, you guessed it, a break up song — and a banger at that!

Halfway Atlantic have dropped their first single since 2019’s EP Let Me Go.
Guitar heavy and backed by Billie Joe Armstrong-esque vocals, the band claims Phantom Pain is more pop than punk, though I’d beg to differ. Raw and full of heart with a tint of the endearing lackadaisical nature of classic punk, the song’s last spoken word bridge, ripping guitar solo, harmonies and plummeting breakdown gives it a unique edginess.
According to the songwriter behind Halfway Atlantic, Matt Warmuth, the track began as a guitar riff before evolving into the razor sharp lovelorn track before you. Which is unsurprising given the catchy guitar-work strung throughout the song.
Speaking on the new single, Matt shares:
It’s about a breakup, where love has been lost or love is not enough to sustain the relationship.
