THE NINTH WAVE Release New Single ‘Everything Will Be Fine’

Glaswegian noise-pop quartet, The Ninth Wave, have released a sampler of what is to come from 2021 with new single, Everything Will Be Fine.

The Ninth Wave 2020

Channeling the undeniable dread and hopeless romanticism of the 80s goth-pop greats before them, Everything Will Be Fine is a glittering three-minute and 20-second fever dream shrouded in ink-drenched baritone and fluttering synth to leave you feeling oddly optimistic.

A poetic ode to the anxiety and uncertainty most of the world has been suffocated by for the better part of the last year, The Ninth Wave do their part to validate listener’s feelings of disparity all the while churning up wishful thinking by enveloping you in symphonic soundscapes.

The simple and catchy chorus truly is the northern star of it all though, taking the song from a mild foot-tapper to a track to sing and dance to for hours on end during lockdown or at a safe social distance with friends.

Singer Haydn Park-Patterson had this to say about the band’s latest release:

It’s a song about twisted optimism, self-reassurance and hope. The overall message of the song seems fitting for the world that we’ve found ourselves in now. I wrote the first version of it in the summer of last year and it was originally intended to be a song for someone else’s comfort and reassurance. It was shelved until earlier this year, when I stripped it down and kept only the name of the song. It then became the twisted optimistic song that it is now after it was brought in, stripped down and rebuilt by us in the studio. It’s the happiest sounding song we’ve recorded.
