CALVA LOUISE Share Video for New Track ‘The Odds’
With infectious guitar riffs and an electrifying lyrical journey, The Odds is an exhilarating glimpse into the universe that Calva Louise are unearthing.
Embodying the modern era of rock music, Calva Louise are an alternative trio comprising of vocalist and guitarist Jess Allanic, bassist Alizon Taho and drummer Ben Parker. Hailing from Venezuela, France and New Zealand, Calva Louise was formed when the three artists crossed paths in London in 2016.
The Odds is a single which features on their upcoming, conceptual album EUPHORIC. Due for release on 20th August, EUPHORIC is due to be Calva Louise’s most eclectic work yet because of Jess’s elaborate creative imagination and exceptional songwriting.
As the band performs their spellbinding sound against a beach backdrop, the visuals for The Odds underline the naturally instinctive inspiration behind the song. Cinematically exquisite and enticing, the visuals also portray a woman riding on horseback with a sword, as she travels towards a mysterious portal. The video’s conclusion alludes to the visually similar female protagonist and Jess walking together into the portal, which is a magnificent image of feminine solidarity.
Jess shares:
‘The Odds’ refers to the probabilities of facing risks, where being authentic allows us to glimpse new paths under the guidance of intuition. Tuning in with nature helps us to realize how valuable life is, which is not only clinging to wanting to see the results of each effort, but knowing how to enjoy the journey and each present moment, since each experience could represent our last battle in this world.
Stay tuned for Calva Louise’s album EUPHORIC, which will be launched along with a graphic novel and animated film, all of which are originating from frontwoman Jess’s ingenious brain.
