Hailing from a coastal village in the Lake District, UK, Aquilo are a duo comprising of Ben Fletcher and Tom Higham, who collaboratively write and produce their sound. Their first two albums Silhouettes and ii achieved enormous success, and the visionary duo have even graced the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival. The release of their poignant new single Our Bones Turn To Stone also marks the impending release of their third album.

Composed two years ago, when Ben and Tom returned home to Silverdale from LA, Our Bones Turn To Stone embodies an incredible discovery for the duo because its creation was inspired by them embracing their roots. Flawlessly stunning Bon Iver-esque vocals and delicate sonics showcase the heart-rending lyricism in this audible masterpiece. When we made this song it felt like a defining moment for us and the album. It was one of the first songs we made where it all clicked into place for the two of us. We started playing this melody on an old, dusty, out of tune piano. Within a few hours of going with the flow it just poured out! We hope it can do the same thing for people listening that it’s done for us.
