Live: BLOSSOMS // O2 Forum Kentish Town, London
Indie-pop outfit Blossoms take over the O2 Forum in Kentish Town for three unforgettable nights.

The Stockport quintet has had a string of successes with hit singles, number 1 albums, and sold-out headline shows. Blossoms have been on the rise since their debut 7 years ago and continue garnering further attention having headlined a pilot festival in Sefton Park, the UK’s first unrestricted live gig since the pandemic began.
On the second of their three nights here, the intro of The Human League’s Don’t You Want Me teased the audience and incited a sing-along, which essentially didn’t stop throughout the night. The band’s first single off their latest album Foolish Loving Spaces, Your Girlfriend, was the perfect opener and was followed by the blasting of synths in the intros of There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) and I Can’t Stand It.
The timelessness of their music which has often been credited with being able to transport the listener to a different decade was evident with every song tonight. It’s a wonder frontman Tom Ogden managed to keep from being tangled up in the microphone cable with all the twirling and swinging. The palpable energy with every song from The Keeper to Honey Sweet to Blow had eased only with Ogden’s solo acoustic rendition of My Favourite Room.
A mammoth encore kicked off with Care For, featuring an outfit change for the entire band which the eagle-eyed amongst the crowd might have recognised from the music video, and Oh No (I Think I’m In Love). Starting the ending strong, At Most A Kiss then led into their biggest hit yet, Charlemagne, with an intense jam that saw Ogden showing his talents on the keys once more. “See you tomorrow,” he says to the lucky few who would be in attendance as the band exit the stage and prepare for what would have undoubtedly been another impeccable night at the Forum.
