HAYLEY WILLIAMS Unveils New Collection of Songs ‘PETALS FOR ARMOR I’
Chapter 3: Hayley Williams is ‘free, finally!’ as we come to the end of the trilogy in new single Cinnamon, taken from her solo debut EP, PETALS FOR ARMOR I.
We can’t seem to catch a breath with Hayley Williams‘ unexpected releases as she drops music video for new single Cinnamon, which drives away from predecessor singles Simmer and Leave It Alone‘s sound with its jazzy danceable groove, psychedelic beats and a constant fascinating funky bass line. The Paramore singer took time to explain on her social media that the track is an ode to her house as she commandingly sings “Home is where I’m feminine / Smells like citrus and cinnamon.”
The video adaptation which seems like it came straight from an American Horror Story episode, starts from where the Leave It Alone interlude left off with the same noises behind a locked door that she quickly gets up to explore. Finding herself going down the stairs of her own house, she quickly finds out the sounds where coming from a vinyl player left playing in her living room. Although she is safely out of the woods this time and fully dressed, she is once again being chased by parts of her house that came to life in a human form dressed in morph suits that end up being alternate versions of her own self. And who would have thought Hayley could dance so effortlessly in a scene which seems to be the highlight of the video as she stops for a quick spectacular dance break alongside her figures.
Cinnamon is part of her solo EP, PETALS FOR ARMOR I, out now, alongside new singles Creepin’ and Sudden Desire.
Speaking of the EP release, Hayley explains:
There are a lot of themes covered on the album as a whole and I thought it best to separate some of these themes so that there can be time for everyone to digest some of the songs before we move along to others. It’s a way to include people on the journey in the same way that I experienced it.
Hayley Williams’ upcoming solo debut album, PETALS FOR ARMOR, is set for release on May 8th.
