TOLEDO Charm With New Single ‘FOMO’
Penned over lockdown, TOLEDO whimsically capture the strange experience of living in isolation.
Brooklyn duo TOLEDO have brought their surf-rock twist to the quarantine life, as they indulge in a host of hazy guitars and ambient electronics in their newest single FOMO. Reflecting the lived experience of going through ups and downs, the rises and dips of the track echo these fleeting emotions in syncopated beats, distant vocals juxtaposed with punchy guitars and soaring melody lines. A continually driving bass line keeps the momentum going, and there’s never a dragging moment as you get strung along the band’s emotive exploration and navigation of recent uncertainties.
TOLEDO elaborates by saying:
This is the first song we wrote and recorded while quarantined together in our hometown of Newburyport, MA. Every morning was starting the same: a very brief meditation and a short session of Yoga with Adriene (love you, girl). The resulting mindfulness was usually short-lived and followed by late nights of drinking and Buffy reruns. FOMO pokes fun at this quarantine lifestyle, but at the end of the day gives voice to a genuine desire to be more present.
