WATERPARKS Release Music Video for ‘Lowkey As Hell’

Surrealistic and whimsical, the new video from Waterparks is a kaleidoscopic fantasy.

Waterparks 2020

Pop-rock trio Waterparks have treated us to imaginative and saturated visuals for their latest single Lowkey As Hell. Directed by frontman Awsten Knight, the video paints a vibrant dreamscape oscillating between pastel florals and scaled-down characters as we find the band in a distorted reality. Featuring Awsten’s brand new rainbow-coloured hairstyle, it truly marks a new era for Waterparks.

Embracing the more poppy side of their sound, Lowkey As Hell is an irresistible cut, shimmering with an infinite number of textures and glitchy sounds that burst into a pop-rock glory. With an introspective lyricism revealing the more private thoughts and feelings experienced by Awsten over the last year, the track adds new layers of depth to the trio’s music.

Speaking more about the release, Awsten shares:

The song is a recap of the last year or so. It really describes what’s been going on and who I am. When I’m on stage, I’m a forward-facing, extroverted presence. At the same time, I’m also the biggest hermit ever. I just like to stay in, ignore my phone a lot, and write. I’m naturally reserved in my day-to-day life. The juxtaposition of loud materialism versus private emotion in that opening line really encapsulates the feeling I wanted to get across in the rest of the song.

The band has also announced the ‘SEE YOU IN THE FUTURE’ UK headline tour for 2021 and the release of their first concert film and live album, FANDOM: LIVE IN THE UK, out on November 27th.
